3DE Entrepreneurs Club (3DE Club) and the Santa Cruz Museum of Art & History (MAH) Event Hosts a Successful 3D Toy Design Workshop.

The Santa Cruz Museum of Art & History came alive with creativity and collaboration as over 60 enthusiastic parents and children gathered for the 3D Toy Design Workshop, hosted by the 3D Entrepreneurs Club (3DE Club). This hands-on session blended innovation, imagination, and entrepreneurship, offering kids ages 8–12 an inspiring glimpse into the world of 3D design and product creation.

The purpose of the event was to introduce families to the 3DE Club’s online after-school program, designed to build real-world skills in creativity, communication, critical thinking, and confidence—essential tools for the next generation of changemakers.

Bobby Roy, founder of 3DE Club, opened the event by sharing the vision behind the program and how 3D printing can empower youth to turn their passions into real, purpose-driven micro ventures.

A special highlight of the afternoon was a keynote presentation by David Silverglate, a celebrated toy designer whose inventions have sold in the millions.

Following his talk, Spencer, 3DE Club trainer, led an energetic group exercise where kids brainstormed original toy or product ideas—sketching them on paper with the support of friends and family.

The spotlight also shone on Fiona, a confident 6th grader and founding member of the 3DE Club, who wowed the crowd with her coral-themed pencil holder—a product she’s already sold more than 14 units of.
